Terms, privacy & refunds

Written in plain language. These are working drafts — review them with counsel before you launch publicly.

Terms of use (placeholder)

Willamette is a community for adults 18 and older looking to meet people in and around Eugene, Oregon. You agree to be honest in your profile and respectful in every conversation and meetup.

We may remove profiles, events, or messages that are harassing, deceptive, commercial, or unsafe. Hosts are responsible for the events they create, including choosing safe, public venues.

This text is a starting point drafted for you — have a lawyer review it before launch.

Privacy (placeholder)

We store the profile details you enter, your matching preferences, your event RSVPs and messages, and your membership status. We show only your approximate neighborhood to other members — never a street address or live location.

Post-event feedback is stored separately from anything hosts can see. Individual ratings and comments are never readable by hosts, other attendees, or anyone else in the app; only anonymised averages appear, and only after at least three people have responded.

You can request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting support.

Refund policy (placeholder)

Memberships renew monthly until cancelled. Cancel any time from the Membership page — your benefits continue until the end of the period you already paid for.

If something goes wrong with a charge, contact us within 14 days and we'll review it. Free-trial periods are never charged if you cancel before the trial end date shown on your Membership page.

Replace this with your final refund terms before accepting live payments.

Community safety

Meet in public for a first date or meetup, tell a friend where you're going, and trust your instincts. Report anything uncomfortable — reports go only to the Willamette team, never to the person reported.
